Hey,

If you are a Semco user, you know there is nothing quite like that first weekend after a fresh application. The colour is rich, the grain is protected, and water (and the odd drink spill) beads off.

But as the Australian sun intensifies, even the best protection reaches its limit. If you’ve noticed the water isn’t beading quite like it used to, or if the high-traffic areas are starting to lose their "glow," it’s time for a maintenance coat.

It's best to Semco before you need to!

  • Preserve the Pigment: It’s much easier to apply a single "top-up" coat over existing Semco than it is to start from scratch once the wood has fully weathered to grey.

  • Stop the Scouring: Don’t let the grain open up. Keep the Semco barrier intact to prevent salt and dirt from nesting deep in the timber.

  • "Zero Sanding": You know the drill—clean it, dry it, apply it. No heavy sanding required as long as you stay ahead of the weather.

Stay Ahead of the Grey

Every experienced user knows, it’s much easier to maintain a Semco finish than to restore one. Don’t get caught halfway through a project with an empty tin. Have a quick look at your current supply—if you need a top-up of your go-to shade, we’ll ship it out immediately so you can keep your teak looking its best with minimal fuss.

Pro-Tip: The 10 Second Test

Next time you’re on the deck or at your table, pour a small amount of fresh water on a high-exposure area. If it soaks in and darkens the wood immediately, your protection is gone. If it beads up, you’re still in the clear.
