Cleartone Teak Sealer contains no added pigment. It is best used on new teak that has yet to start to grey.

Easy to use

First, clean it with a drop of dishwashing soap in a bucket of water to remove any surface dirt or dust. If the dust, dirt, and grime is a little deeper, use the Semco 2-Part Cleaning Kit.

It is important to note that because it does not have added pigment, like Natural or Honeytone, it is not as weather resistant, especially in high UV environments.

Coverage:

A 1 Litre tin of Semco Cleartone Teak Sealer covers approximately 5 square metres or a 1.2m table with 6 chairs.

4 Litre Semco Teak Sealer covers approximately 20 square metres.

If your teak is in a high-exposure environment, reapply Semco Teak Sealer every three to six months. It can be reapplied straight over the top of previous coats.

Love the way the Semco Products bring my teak back to life

Following many years of trying to find the best and easiest to use product to protect and embellish teak decks on several boats, I came across the Semco brand. In particular I prefer the look of their Cleartone sealer as it most resembles the look of fresh new teak. Semco has an A & B cleaning kit to rejuvenate old weathered teak decks that present as dried out greyish black and most times green mildewed timber with dirt filled grain. Once that’s done and you have created a clean new teak look a choice of sealers to choose from allows you to protect it in the colour you desire. I coat my deck every three months as all I need do prior to applying the sealer is a simple wash and broom. Depending on the time of year I’ve found leaving it longer than four months necessitates the need to rejuvenate again with the A & B cleaning kit. I find applying the teak with a piece of rag so easy and uniform as you would apply a stain to raw timber. So four times a year, all I need do is wash the deck then apply the sealer by wiping it in with a rag then sit back and enjoy a great looking well protected teak deck. My tin arrived to me empty, with the box full of dried fluid. I have no idea what happened to cause this but when I contacted the company to let them know and indicate that I would be following up with the transport company they immediately sent me a replacement tin. I hadn't asked them to do so but I really appreciated it. Their service was spectacular and I am also loving the product. I would recommend them completely.

Making a Labour of Love a little easier I've tried many different teak products over the years including the Natural and the Cleartone Semco varities. All the Semco varieties produce an excellent result and are easy to apply. While Cleartone requires more regular re-application than the tinted varieties, the extreme ease of application of the Cleartone means that the task is easy, quick and enjoyable.

Easy to use. So far, so good! I did a bit of research on teak treatments and Semco teak sealer was the brand that kept on popping up. My application is an outdoor table of reclaimed teak, so might be a bit different from others here. Soozal shipped it to me very quickly. The sealer is pretty watery so it applies easily (apparently you can use a pressure spray bottle). I used a rag to wipe it on in two coats, one after the other. The rag was recommended by a youtube video. It was a bit time consuming, but after a coupe of weeks the timber is retaining it's colour nicely. We'll see how it goes in a year.
